It’s just blank.

Every time I look at certain cards I get nothing. Nada. Zip. Zilch. Zero. These cards frustrate me to no end. At most, I can come up with one thing but it makes no sense to me. Do you have cards like that? What are they? How do you try and get closer to them?

Like most people, I have trouble with the court cards. I have never understood the aces.

What are the cards you have problems with? What do you think of the cards I don’t understand. What are your meanings for them? Why do you think I can’t get a read on these cards?

Cards, how I have missed thee

hey guys.

It it has been awhile since I have posted. Work is crazy and life is crazy. I have gotten a couple of new decks, a few are just decorative. I really like collecting them. I found a book that actually kinda gave me a breakthrough with the cards and their meaning.

The 2-hour tarot tutor.  I highly recommend this book. I fist checked it out of my local library, surprised that they had it in the first place, and the. I had to buy it. It was all super simple.

Now im trying to open up my intuition more, any suggestions?

My birthday is coming up soon, which means another year spread. Woohoo

i also joined and indigo project for a deck of tarot cards to support breast cancer research. It should be released in October. I can’t wait to share a few of the pictures.

My my stepdad made me a box that can hold three decks of cards. I’m going to put my favorite ones in there: Native American, fairy lights, and probably my larger rider-white deck.

It has been great to catch up and I’ve missed you all, except the people who keep leaving me “turn to God” and “this is what the bible says about what you do” comments. Ugh. Anyway. Until next time, be careful, find the joy in the little things, and have fun.

Becka.

Ten of Cups

My thoughts- Happiness. The completion of something but it was a good ending. I don’t feel sad about his ending. There is a large amount of blue in this card. The couple looks happy and so do the children.

The book- The Ten of Cups shows the range of emotions found in a happy home: contentment, comfort, joy, playfulness, and affection.

The Universal Waite Card– The adults look skyward with arms upraised, acknowledging the role of the Divine, or spirituality, in their happiness. The children dance and play. The river in the card shows how their relationships flow through and nourish their lives.

Core Meaning-  Happy home.

Nine of Cups

download (3)My thoughts- The guy on the card looks happy. His arms are crossed in simple defiance/ smugness. Look at all those cups!!! The two main colors are blue and yellow. I feel as if he is saying “That’s right, I have all the cups! What are you going to do about it?”

The book- In the days when playing cards were used for divination, the Nine of Hearts was called “the wish card”. It meant that your wish would come true. The Nine of Cups has that same promise, although there is a fine line between having what you want and wanting what you have. Both sides of that coin are in this card. It represents feeling satisfied and happy with what you have.

The Universal Waite card – shows a very contented man sitting proudly before his fine collection of chalices. Some interpret him as smug and focused too much on his possessions. But we must consider the symbolism. The cups are on a blue-draped table, representing a spiritual and healthy aspect. The man is facing us in a sociable manner, as if welcoming us, rather than obsessing about his possessions.

Core Meaning – Material, emotional, and physical well-being.

I still feel like he is smug about what he has. I don’t know why but this man makes me feel a little angry. What about you? What do you think of this card?

Crazy

Okay. Life has been crazy but I haven’t forgotten about you. I have been warding off the comments from people try to get me to go to Jesus. I will tell you now that I do believe in God and Jesus. So please stop telling me that what I study and enjoy is going to make me go to hell. Thank you.
I have been working a lot, training and working late hours. So here is my one card reading today. I’ve been feeling anxious lately, a little sad, and my husband and I have been “arguing”. We don’t really argue, one if us snaps at the other, we are silent for about ten minutes, and then we both say we are sorry.
Today I’m asking the cards for advice, I’m just going to shuffle the cards while asking the deck for advice and then when a card or even a few cards fall out I will read them. I’m using my Native American deck.

One of vessels (cups), four of shields (coins), and four of pipes (wands), all fell out at the same time.

LWB – one of vessels- the essence of the ace of vessels is the fulfillment, the beginning of, or the renewal of love.

Four of shields-the essence of the silence is the act of looking inward for a solution to life’s problems. Silence is a time of inner tranquility and peace.

Four of pipes- the essence of Honor is success attracted by forethought and humility.

Wow. My Native American tarot deck always cuts through all my bullshit to tell me what I need to know.

I’m lost

Today, for the first time in about two months, I am without a deck. I usually have about two or three decks in my bag at all times, but I walked out of the house this morning without my decks (they are on the bookshelf). I usually shuffle my deck several times a day, whenever I have something on my mind, whenever a question is asked that doesn’t have an answer. I don’t like this feeling of being lost. I have grown attached to my cards.

What do you do when you don’t have a deck with you?

Question

Okay, I have been studying from a book called Tarot for Yourself : A Workbook For Personal Transformation By Mary K. Greer.

So far I like it. But it asked me to lay out my trump cards and pick a card that calls to you. So I layed out my first deck (Rider Waite), none of the cards really call to me. I lay out my second deck (Fairy Tarot), they are all very beautiful and I notice that 8 and 11 have been switched (Strength and Justice) I reverse them and look again, nothing really calls to me. I lay out my third deck (Native American Tarot), two cards sorta call to me, but not convincingly. I lay out my fourth deck (Troth), Again, 8 and 11 are reversed, two cards kinda call out to me, again, not convincingly. So I look at the four cards that call to me and picked out a card…. So, my question isn’t why do these cards call to me, but Why are Strength and Justice in each others place? Do you know?

Okay… I’m bored… How about a reading!!!

I will stick with my standard three card spread. What shall the question be?

How can I better get along with my step dad?

The Hanged Man, Judgement, The Tower…

On the surface… this kinda looks like our relationship. We silently accepted each other, we are okay right now (Its not always like this), And a huge fight is never too far away.

The Hanged Man- Silent acceptance

Judgement- A call of some sort (maybe me actually seeking to make our relationship better)

The Tower- To break through, we must break down… maybe its the barriers that we have both put up, maybe its just a fight that will make us realize that he have just be cruel to each other in the past.

Answer- To get a better relationship with my step dad, we need to sit down and air out all of our difference, this might lead to a fight but in the end we might just be the better for it.

Eight of Cups

My thoughts- Unbalance. Okay, so a confession… I have ocd. So the first thing I notice is that the cups aren’t stacked evenly. It appears to me, as if the sun and the moon are both in the sky as this person is walking around the river/creek. At least he is wearing bright colors so he will be seen.

The book- The Eight of Cups is about leaving the known and comfortable for the unknown. The reasons and results are different for each journey and seeker. What is common to the experience is the promise of transformation. Even if we return, we will be different, and therefore nothing will ever be the same again.

The Universal Waite Card- A man leaves his ordered rows of cups. There is clearly something missing, indicated by the open space in the top row. He seeks that missing piece. The mountains in the background imply a challenging journey, and the moon represent change and the unknown.

Core Meaning- Leaving something behind to search for something else.

Seven of Cups

My thoughts- So many choices. Every single cup has a different choice, and with it, and different outcome. I do have to say that I don’t think I would choose the image that is either a funky mushroom or a poorly attired ghost.

The book- The Seven of Cups shows all of our dreams and desires laid out, awaiting our consideration. This card doesn’t tell us how to choos. It expresses the feelings we have in the face of possibilities and implies the downside of this experience: until a choice is made, there is a lack of focus.

The Universal Waite Card- The figure is darkened and his back is to us, indicating confusion and distraction. The dreams are looming so large that they are casting him in a shadow. The contrast between the man and the cups is unsettling.

Core Meaning- Dreams and desires.

To bad our dreams and desires don’t always mesh.
